We’ve just launched two features that have been requested by our users and that will definitely help you get more value out of Codacy.  These are on demand analysis and code pattern parameters.

On demand analysis

You’re now able to instantly analyze a project after you made changes to it.

How to do it

Whenever you ignore files, you will now be prompted with the possibility of analysing your code right away:

code pattern parameters

You’ll also be able to do this whenever you configure your code patterns:

codepatterns

Code pattern parameters

We’re focused on providing the most flexible code analysis tool on the market. As such, we now allow you to enter parameters in your favorite code patterns.

If the code pattern enforces a spacing rule or line length, then giving special code pattern parameters makes sense.

How to do it

When choosing your code patterns, some will have the option to enter a parameter:

We’ve currently launched this feature for PHP code patterns and close to launch for Javascript as well. We’ll be extending this to our languages soon.

[Update]: customization of parameters is now supported for all our languages

What’s next?

We’ve got an amazing roadmap of new features and big launches.
Please do reach out to us with comments and feedback!

Edit: We just published an ebook: “The Ultimate Guide to Code Review” based on a survey of 680+ developers. Enjoy!
