Customizing Patterns When Following Coding Standards

We’re excited to announce a new feature that will give developers using Codacy more freedom and power than ever to tailor their code analysis processes.

Developers can now customize code patterns in any repositories following coding standards. This means that individual developers don’t have to ask administrators to approve these customizations. They can go in and enable tools and patterns in their repos to enforce every coding standard they believe is relevant to their work and the code they’re analyzing.

How It Works

The look of the Code Patterns page hasn’t changed. You will still see all the tools enforced for each coding standard toggled on or off. The difference now is that any developer in the organization can freely turn on the analysis tools they believe necessary for their code analysis.

The same goes for patterns. You can click the checkboxes associated with any pattern to turn them on or off according to your needs and preferences.

Additionally, users can now easily decide whether each tool enforced by a particular coding standard uses a local or remote (cloud) configuration.

This is just the beginning of our efforts to improve the Coding Standards experience. We have several great new user experience improvements in the pipeline that we can’t wait to share with you.

Register for our upcoming Product Showcase event on October 8 to ensure you don’t miss out on any of our latest features.
